Just got back from the Charleston Code Camp

Laurie and I are in Charleston, SC.  I just got back from the Charleston Code Camp.  I presented two talks today – Controlling your Home with Media Center and What’s new in ASP.NET 2.0.  Originally, Bill Ryan was covering four talks for some people who couldn’t make it, so I volunteered to cover one of them for him.  Unfortunately, my ASP.NET 2.0 demo for the Media Center talk barfed (the machine will no longer compile ASP.NET 2.0 applications).  In addition, my second talk should be about 2.5 hours, but I only had 1.25 hours so I had to cram a lot of information into the talk.

At the end of the day, I won an XBox that they were giving away to one of the speakers.  My number was drawn so I walked away with a shiny new XBox that we’re going to use as a Media Center Extender in the main room.  Laurie has been wanting to watch her TV shows while she worked on her Nell Walker vintage hand bags.

Charleston has some great .NET developers and everyone was awesome.  I look forward to doing this again.

Chris Williams did an awesome job coordinating this Code Camp.  The volunteers also did a great job.  Thanks for being a great host, Charleston!  Now we’re off to find some grub.
